Sneak Peak

We have been wanting to take the time to write to you about this experience but time is something we have been very short on these past few months. Thank you for your patience! As you know, we’ve got three little kiddos on the team and it’s just been go go go. However, we were grateful to snap a very special family photo this year…

Happy Holidays from the hardworking Tavern Team!

So instead of writing about how much progress we’ve made, we’d like to invite you to join us at The Tavern on the Square for a Sneak Peak!

We are opening up our store, Mercantile 1931 for a Holiday Pop-up Shop!

Saturday, December 16th from 11 - 5

We’ll have a sample of what The Mercantile will have to offer, once officially open. Since we won’t be able to open up the whole building to you on Saturday, we’ll have renderings of the upstairs projects.

We teamed up with Wildman Chalmers out of Pittsburgh. They are the design team behind hot spots like Alta Via in Fox Chapel, Mediterra in Sewickley and the Ace Hotel in East Liberty, to name a few of their local hospitality-related projects. We are so pleased with their work and want you to have a glimpse of what is to come to New Wilmington in 2024!

It is still an active construction site in the back so please consider parking in town. There are two public lots off of Market Street. We’ll ask you to avoid the back entrance for the time being and come in through our new front doors!

Tavern Gift Cards now available.

Along with fun finds, Tavern Gear and a few kitchen-related Christmas gifts, we’ll also be selling Gift Cards. We thank the kind souls who have already invested in us with these early purchases. We recognize how meaningful it is to show your faith in a business that is not yet open. We are giving this project all we’ve got and your buy-in here is such a boost to our morale and our bottom line.

If you cannot make it on Saturday but still want to be a part of this restoration story by purchasing a Tavern Gift Card, you can do so by clicking the link below. We sincerely thank you in advance for this early show of support!

We will also share the designers’ renderings with you here in our journal after the Pop-up. We have subscribers from all over the country (and a few in Europe ;) so we will make sure everyone will get to see what is going on at 108 N Market Street.

It is our primary driving focus to get this restaurant open. We are reluctant to set a firm date because we would have had to issue apologies several times by now if we had done so in the past.

However, we are close. The building is really coming together. We are hiring and holding many interviews weekly and the staff is shaping up. The sense of urgency is there and we will get the doors open ASAP.

We look forward to seeing you and thank you for your continued encouragement and enthusiasm for this very meaningful project!

Sincerely,

Maggie and Matt Noble & Company
